I am an admissions professional at a major national university in the state of Nebraska. I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies.
It was during my college career that I was led to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. I was reached through a fraternity brother and the Navigators collegiate ministry. My experience as a Christian in a Religious Studies program at a secular institution was extremely rewarding (intellectually and spiritually) and has shaped me in many ways. I have an intense desire to attend graduate seminary, enter into pastoral ministry, and plant churches.
A few notes about me to keep in mind as you read this blog:
- I enjoy reasoned discussion and the exchanging of ideas (especially with those who do not subscribe to the same world view or belief system as I). If you disagree with me, please include comment so that we can discuss.
- I love to be challenged and attempt to be intellectually honest as I consider others’ viewpoints.
- I struggle to empathize with others in order that I might understand why they hold beliefs which are different from my own. I find this to be far more valuable than simply pointing out why others’ beliefs are wrong.
- I am conservative.
- I am liberal.
- I believe that Christianity is reasonable. My faith in Christ is not blind.
- I desire to know my God. I desire to make my God known.
To HIM be the glory…
